What can I save in Markwise?
Bookmarks, notes, web highlights, YouTube videos with timestamps, and grouped research Spaces. Anything you want to remember or revisit later.
How is Markwise different from other bookmark managers?
Markwise files what you save, then you ask your library in plain English. Free keeps the links and text search. Pro adds Copilot and search by meaning.
What are Focus Sessions?
A Focus Session is a set of tabs you save from the Chrome extension. Markwise titles and summarizes the session so you can pick the work back up later.
Does Markwise support YouTube videos?
Yes. Highlight text from YouTube transcripts and it saves with automatic timestamps. Click any highlight to jump to that exact moment in the video.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The free plan gives you 50 bookmarks, basic text search, 5 Spaces, 5 notes, and a Chrome extension. Pro is $4.90/month or $39/year. Try Pro for $0.99 for 3 days. Copilot and search by meaning are Pro.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your library is private to your account and is never sold. Export or delete it anytime from Settings.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Opera via the Markwise extension. The web app works on any modern desktop or mobile browser.
Can I import Pocket, Raindrop, or Chrome bookmarks?
Yes. Pro bulk import accepts Chrome's bookmarks.html, a Pocket CSV export if you still have one, and other standard exports. Free can still save new links one at a time.
What is semantic search?
Search by meaning instead of exact keywords. Describe the save the way you remember it. Pro-only; Free is text search on titles and URLs.
How do I cancel Pro?
From Settings → Billing on the web, or Apple subscriptions on iOS. You keep Pro until the period ends, then the free plan keeps your links.
Can ChatGPT or Claude use my Markwise library?
Yes. Add https://api.markwise.app/mcp as a custom connector in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code, sign in, and approve. Your AI can search your saves, read their text, and save links and notes. Free includes 25 AI searches a day; Pro is unmetered.
